Using and complying with software copyright regulations not only helps protect personal devices and data from viruses, malware, and information security risks, but also demonstrates responsibility in respecting intellectual property rights, contributing to building a safe, civilized, and professional digital learning environment.
📌 NTTU students must strictly implement the following regulations:
✅ Only use licensed software or software with legal permission for use.
❌ Do not install, copy, or use software of unknown origin.
❌ Do not use cracking tools, keygens, unauthorized activation software, or any forms aimed at bypassing software copyright protection mechanisms.
👨💻 Student Responsibilities
🔹 Comply with legal regulations and take personal responsibility for installing and using software on personal devices.
🔹 Do not download or install software from unknown sources.
🔹 When using personal devices for studying, researching, or connecting to the University’s information system, students must ensure that installed software has clear origins and legitimate usage rights.
🔹 For devices provided by the University, do not arbitrarily install or modify software without permission.
⚖️ Why is compliance necessary?
📖 According to the Law on Intellectual Property of 2005 (amended and supplemented in 2025), computer programs are objects protected by copyright. Copying, installing, using, or distributing software without permission from the copyright owner may be considered copyright infringement.
📖 According to Article 225 of the Penal Code of 2015 (amended and supplemented in 2017), acts of infringing upon copyright and related rights that satisfy the elements constituting a crime under the law may face criminal prosecution, with penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment depending on the nature and severity of the violation.
