NTTU strengthens strategic partnership with the University of Adelaide in clinical simulation training for Health Sciences.

Recently, a delegation from Nguyen Tat Thanh University paid a visit and worked to promote strategic cooperation at the Medical Simulation Center, University of Adelaide, Australia. This is the only simulation center in Australia to achieve dual accreditation from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in both teaching and research.

The working session was attended by high-level representatives from both institutions. From the University of Adelaide, there were Ms. Lori Hocking – Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Partnerships); Prof. Tobby Hughes – Head of International Cooperation, Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology; Prof. Adam Montagu – Director of the Clinical Simulation Center; Prof. Amanda Page – representative of the Health Sciences block; along with Ms. Asa Hodken – specialist from the International Cooperation Department.

From Nguyen Tat Thanh University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Phuong – Vice President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Dr. Luu Nguyen Duc Hanh – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department.

This business trip is not only of diplomatic significance but also serves as a practical opportunity for the NTTU delegation to deeply research and learn from the world’s leading advanced clinical simulation training experiences and models today. This activity also demonstrates the University’s consistent orientation in expanding international cooperation, step-by-step integrating modern training standards into the curriculum, particularly in the Health Sciences sector.

Accessing Clinical Simulation Models in Line with International Standards

During the direct working process at the Medical Simulation Center, the delegation from Nguyen Tat Thanh University focused on understanding the operation methods, management, and optimization of learning spaces, as well as strategies for implementing simulation practices.

These advanced learning models help lecturers and students directly access operating procedures that meet international standards, thereby aiming at the goal of safer and more effective patient care.

In addition to studying simulation models, the NTTU delegation took a practical field trip to the Royal Adelaide Hospital – the largest medical research and training center in South Australia.

This is an important stepping stone for the University to comprehensively improve its teaching spaces and enhance the output quality for the Nursing major in particular, as well as the Health Sciences sector in general in the near future. With a training orientation linked to practice and approaching international standards, NTTU expects that students in the Health Sciences block will have more opportunities to hone professional skills, improve practical capabilities, and become more confident when entering the modern healthcare environment.

Expanding Cooperation in Training, Technology Transfer, and Educational Consultancy

Through the discussion sessions, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the University of Adelaide agreed on a long-term cooperation orientation focusing on key areas.

In the field of training and exchange, both sides intend to implement short-term summer student exchange programs, or dual-degree joint models such as 2+2 and eventually 4+0. These cooperative directions open up more international learning and experiential opportunities for NTTU students, while contributing to enhancing learners’ integration capabilities right from the training process.

In the field of technology transfer and educational consultancy, the University of Adelaide is ready to provide in-depth advice, receive NTTU lecturers for clinical simulation skill training in Australia, or send experts directly to Vietnam to support the development of high-quality human resources in medical simulation training. This holds great significance in improving the capacity of the faculty members, thereby passing on modern training methodologies to the University’s Health Sciences students.

The business trip once again affirms Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s determination to constantly improve educational quality, while expanding international cooperation to help students in the Health Sciences sector confidently integrate into global training and professional environments. Through strategic partnerships with prestigious universities worldwide, NTTU continues to display its role as a dynamic, proactive higher education institution that embraces innovation and aims at training a workforce that meets societal needs in the context of global integration.
