NTTU Successfully Organizes Consultation Workshop on Environmental Health Network Action Plan

On March 26, 2026, Nguyen Tat Thanh University hosted a Consultation Workshop to gather feedback on the Action Plan and Priority Activities of the Environmental Health Network for the 2026–2031 period, attracting significant interest and attendance from numerous leading scientists, experts, and representatives from relevant agencies and organizations.

The program was co-organized by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment (VACNE) and the Institute of Interdisciplinary Sciences at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. Its goal was to consult professional opinions and strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation in research, risk assessment, and the development of public health protection solutions against environmental challenges.

In her opening remarks, Prof. Dang Kim Chi – representative of the leadership of the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment and Chair of the Environmental Health Network, emphasized the necessity of building a multidisciplinary cooperation network to enhance research capacity, share data, and coordinate actions in the context of growing environmental and health risks.

Speaking at the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Hong – Vice President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, also highlighted the university’s role in promoting applied scientific research, connecting experts, and contributing scientific knowledge to urgent societal issues. She emphasized spreading practical solutions to serve the community, especially in the fields of environmental health and sustainable development.

During the workshop, delegates listened to a presentation and discussed the draft “Action Plan of the Environmental Health Network for the 2026–2031 Period” delivered by Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Mai – Vice Director of the Institute of Hydrometeorology, Environment and Climate Change. The plan is oriented toward building a multidisciplinary scientific cooperation network to enhance research capacity, share data, assess risks, and support environmental management and public health work nationwide.

An important topic that drew significant interest and discussion among attendees was the thematic report on “Assessment of Clean Water Supply Quality and Environmental Factors Related to Public Health” presented by a representative from the Center for Disease Control (HCDC). The report highlighted several challenges in domestic water quality management and emphasized the need to enhance monitoring, control pollution sources, and raise community awareness regarding safe water usage.

The workshop took place in an atmosphere of serious, open, and constructive scientific exchange, recording many practical contributions from experts, scientists, and representatives of participating units. These opinions serve as an important foundation for finalizing the Environmental Health Network’s action plan in the coming period. The successful organization of the program continues to affirm the role of the Institute of Interdisciplinary Sciences – Nguyen Tat Thanh University in connecting scientific resources, promoting interdisciplinary research, and partnering with organizations in environmental protection, community healthcare, and sustainable development activities.
