Having simultaneously completed her graduation internship and thesis while constantly refining products with her teammates to join academic competitions, Le Thanh Nhan – a fresh graduate in Information Technology from the Faculty of Information Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University – concluded her university journey with a GPA of 3.89/4.0 alongside three awards in data science, artificial intelligence, and Gen AI. Behind those achievements lies a journey of growth, transforming from a student once bewildered by university learning methods into a proactive, persistent, and confident female graduate pursuing the field of technology.
Final Year: “Sprinting” with Thesis, Internship, and Three Tech Competitions
Le Thanh Nhan’s final academic year was packed with consecutive tasks.
In addition to completing her graduation internship module and focusing on her thesis, Nhan collaborated with her teammates to prepare products for various academic competitions organized by the Faculty of Information Technology and Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
There were days when, after finishing her internship work, Nhan continued to check her thesis progress, discuss with her advisor, and then review the competition products with her group. Inappropriate details were analyzed, emerging bugs were checked, and each solution was continuously adjusted within an increasingly narrowing timeframe.
“The workload during this time was quite heavy, requiring me to know how to arrange my time, stay focused, and try my best to complete each task successfully,” Nhan shared.

Each part of the work set a different requirement. The internship period helped Nhan get used to the pace, discipline, and collaboration in a professional environment. The thesis demanded research capability, planning layout, and serious product completion. Meanwhile, the competitions required the whole team to quickly transform ideas into testable, presentable, and evaluable solutions.
That process did not always run smoothly. There were solutions that seemed suitable but still had to change after receiving feedback. There were errors that needed multiple checks to identify the root causes. When a product did not meet requirements, the members looked back at the problem together, divided tasks, and kept seeking solutions instead of stopping at an undesired result.
It was during that stressful period that the companionship of friends and guidance from lecturers became the anchor helping Nhan maintain her pace. Through each discussion, revision, and redo, she learned how to manage time, coordinate with teammates, and take responsibility for her own part of the work.
From that process, Nhan respectively won the First Prize in the Data Science Competition at the Faculty of Information Technology level, the Second Prize in the Artificial Intelligence Competition at the Faculty of Information Technology level, and the First Prize in the “Creativity with Gen AI” Competition organized by the English Club of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
The three awards not only marked the results of a busy academic year but also demonstrated students’ ability to apply knowledge in fast-growing fields of technology. From data science and artificial intelligence to Gen AI, every arena required learners to know how to analyze problems, select solutions, and coordinate resources to complete products within a limited time.
Concluding more than three years of study at NTTU, Nhan graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors, achieving a GPA of 3.89/4.0.

Proactiveness, confidence, and a spirit of not fearing challenges have helped Le Thanh Nhan continuously conquer academic playing fields, making her mark with three awards in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, and Gen AI
Behind that number were days of searching for documents, times when a set problem could not be solved immediately, and periods of simultaneously balancing studying, interning, writing her thesis, and participating in academic activities.
Therefore, when learning about her graduation results, Nhan’s joy came not only from the title she achieved but also from the feeling that her persistent efforts throughout the university journey had been recognized.
“I feel very happy and proud. I am also grateful to my teachers, friends, and especially my mother – who always created favorable conditions, encouraged, and supported my aspirations. To me, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors is not the end point, but the motivation to keep striving in the journey ahead,” Nhan expressed.
According to Mr. Tran Chau Thanh Thien, M.Sc. – a lecturer in Information Technology at the Faculty of Information Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, what is commendable about Le Thanh Nhan lies not just in her GPA of 3.89/4.0 or the awards she achieved, but is also demonstrated through her serious attitude toward learning, self-study ability, and responsibility for every task.
During her learning process, Nhan proactively accepted feedback, coordinated well with group members, and persistently made adjustments when products did not meet requirements. According to Mr. Thien, these are essential competencies for students pursuing Information Technology – a field that requires learners to constantly update their knowledge, adapt to changes, and proactively find solutions to new problems.

Closing more than three years of university, Le Thanh Nhan marked her learning journey with a 3.89/4.0 GPA along with three awards in the fields of data science, artificial intelligence, and Gen AI

From Being Bewildered by New Learning Methods to Mastering the Tech Journey
Le Thanh Nhan chose Information Technology after researching the applicability and development paths of this field.
The more she learned, the more Nhan realized that Information Technology is not merely about programming or lines of code appearing on a screen. It is also about how humans use critical thinking, technology, and creativity to build solutions for problems in study, work, and life.
“I realized this is a field with great development potential that can be applied in many aspects of life. I wanted to study a major that is both challenging and opens up many opportunities for me to constantly learn and grow,” Nhan shared.
Nhan’s mother is a lecturer in Information Technology, well aware of the characteristics, difficulties, and requirements of the industry. However, her mother never forced her daughter to follow in her professional footsteps, nor did she require Nhan to achieve a certain grade or rank.
The choice to study Information Technology stemmed from Nhan’s own research and consideration. What her mother gave her was not a pre-arranged roadmap, but a serious attitude toward studying and accountability for the path she chose.
“My mother always respected all my decisions. She didn’t put pressure on me to study exceptionally well, get very high grades, or stand at a specific rank. She helped me understand why I need to study seriously and be responsible for the path I chose,” Nhan recounted.

When looking into Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Nhan found that the practice-oriented training direction suited her own desire: being equipped with professional knowledge while having opportunities to practice, complete projects, participate in academic activities, and gradually form professional competence.
“I felt that NTTU was the right environment for me to start that journey. The university offers a practice-oriented training curriculum, creating conditions for students to learn, practice, and step-by-step shape their professional capabilities,” Nhan shared.
However, choosing the right major and learning environment did not mean the university journey immediately became easy.
During her first days entering the Faculty of Information Technology, the biggest difficulty for Nhan was not necessarily that the knowledge was too unfamiliar, but the process of getting used to a new way of learning. Instead of just receiving lectures, students had to proactively look for documents, practice on their own, and learn how to handle problems.
For assignments requiring logical thinking or projects with multiple interrelated tasks, learners also had to know how to discuss, divide tasks, and coordinate with group members. Initially, there were times when Nhan could not keep up with the learning pace, especially when performing tasks that demanded a lot of time and concentration.
What helped Nhan gradually adapt was finding the right study group partners, who shared the same goals and striving spirit. When a member faced a difficulty, the whole group discussed the lesson together, shared methods, and supported each other in finding a solution.
“I was lucky to have group mates who were very like-minded. They discussed lessons with me, supported each other when encountering problems, and together we made progress through each module. Besides, the dedicated guidance from teachers also helped me know how to untangle difficulties and become more confident in my major,” Nhan stated.
According to Nhan, the highlight of the Information Technology training program at NTTU is the connection between professional knowledge and the practical process.
Students do not just learn theory in the lecture halls but are also trained through practical exercises, course projects, academic activities, internships, and graduation theses. These forms are arranged sequentially, helping learners gradually transition from understanding knowledge to being able to utilize it in specific tasks.

Practical exercises help students check their level of understanding. Projects require learners to connect multiple contents to build a product. Academic activities unlock more opportunities to access new fields, while the internship period helps students better visualize the requirements and discipline of a professional environment.
“Those experiences helped me understand that to do well in the field of Information Technology, students not only need to grasp knowledge but must also know how to apply it to reality,” Nhan shared.
In that journey, the graduation thesis was the module that left the deepest impression on Nhan.
To the female fresh graduate, the thesis was not just a final module but also a milestone summarizing the process of studying for over three years at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. This was the time for her to apply the accumulated knowledge, skills, and experience to research problems, build solutions, manage progress, and complete products with more rigorous requirements.
“The thesis writing process involved pressure and challenges, but it also brought me many memorable memories. This was the period that helped me see the growth of myself most clearly after the university path,” Nhan expressed.
Looking back at herself from the first day of enrollment, Nhan realized the most obvious change lay in her proactiveness.
From a student who was bewildered and sometimes lacked confidence, she gradually learned to set goals, manage time, and take responsibility for her choices. Nhan also became more confident when communicating, working in teams, and presenting ideas.
“I learned that success does not come from a single moment, but is the result of a steady, persistent process of effort and continuous self-improvement,” Nhan said.

From the early days of being bewildered by university learning methods, Nhan gradually formed proactiveness, time management ability, and a sense of responsibility for each task
From a 3.89 GPA to a Message for Female Students Who Love Tech
Before entering university, Nhan used to hear opinions claiming that Information Technology is a difficult, dry major, and usually more suitable for men.
However, her experience during the learning process helped her realize that the ability to pursue a field is not determined by gender, but lies in the level of seriousness, the spirit of learning, and how each person promotes their strengths.
In the learning environment at the Faculty of Information Technology, Nhan did not feel isolated for being a female student. When working in groups or executing projects, members coordinated with each other based on competence, responsibility, and common goals.
The care from lecturers along with the supportive spirit among students helped Nhan view gender difference not as a pressure, but as an opportunity to practice and prove her capability through her actual academic results, products, and working attitude.

From her experience, Le Thanh Nhan sends a message to female students who love tech: gender does not determine the ability to pursue Information Technology; seriousness, proactiveness, and perseverance are the foundation to go far
“Whether male or female, if you study seriously, discover proactively, listen well, and constantly try, you can all achieve good results in the field of Information Technology,” Nhan shared.
From her experience, Nhan wants to send a message to female students who are interested in Information Technology: do not let the thought “this major is not for girls” limit your choice.
“This major is indeed difficult, but difficult does not mean impossible to learn. What matters is whether you are serious, persistent, and ready to learn enough or not,” Nhan said.
According to Nhan, students do not necessarily have to know programming beforehand, be excellent at math, or possess an existing technology background to start. University is where learners access knowledge from the foundation, practice step-by-step, and discover their own capabilities.
“When studying Information Technology at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, you will have the opportunity to access professional knowledge, practice skills, and participate in many activities to develop yourself. The key is that you need to be proactive, persistent, and not afraid of challenges,” Nhan shared.
For candidates standing before the threshold of choosing a major and a school, Nhan’s story brings a suggestion: a suitable choice lies not only in the name of the major or the attraction of a trend, but also in the way the university environment helps learners turn their passion into competence.

The Faculty of Information Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University creates a learning environment integrated with practice, projects, academic fields, and professional experiences, helping students gradually transform knowledge into products, develop technological capacity, and stay ready to adapt to labor market demands
At the Faculty of Information Technology, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, that journey is extended from lecture hall knowledge to practical exercises, projects, academic playing fields, internships, and graduation theses. Through each experience, students have the opportunity to access developing technological fields, put knowledge into products, and step-by-step form professional competence.
For candidates who love technology, desire learning linked with experiences, and are ready to be proactive on their own path, the Information Technology major at Nguyen Tat Thanh University opens up a journey well worth choosing and exploring.
