On June 24 and 25, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House and Van Anh Culture – Commerce Co., Ltd., organized a series of art programs aimed at spreading traditional cultural values. Titled “The Silk Ribbon of Sounds” and “Echoes of the Three Regions,” this meaningful event marked the upcoming 50th anniversary of Saigon – Gia Dinh officially and proudly bearing the name of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as the 27th anniversary of Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s establishment. It also aimed to bring traditional music closer to the younger generation.
The program series attracted a large number of staff, lecturers, and students, creating an artistic space steeped in national identity through performances that blended tradition with a contemporary touch. Familiar melodies of folk music, performed on various traditional instruments with creative styling, gave students an opportunity to approach cultural heritage from a close, vivid, and emotionally resonant perspective.
During the program, Dan Bau (monochord) artist Van Anh and the Da Giac Band took the audience on a journey to discover the beauty of traditional music through numerous works inspired by the country’s three regions. Each performance not only showcased artistic excellence but also told a story of Vietnamese culture, history, and identity.

Alongside the performances, students had the chance to interact with the artists through minigames and share their thoughts on the value of traditional music in modern life. The open and welcoming atmosphere helped many students better understand the importance of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values amid digital transformation and international integration.

Through these direct artistic experiences, Nguyen Tat Thanh University hopes to spark a sense of pride and love for Vietnam’s cultural heritage, while nurturing a sense of responsibility among the younger generation to preserve and pass on traditional values.
Combining performance art, interactive exchange, and hands-on experiences, “The Silk Ribbon of Sounds” and “Echoes of the Three Regions” left a wonderful and lasting impression on students. It reaffirms the vital role of arts and culture in character education, enriching the soul, and maintaining national identity amid the pace of modern life.
